Hello! I'm Misty, and it's nice to have you visit! Let me tell you what this is all about...

 

I started the Addiction Baby Company (ABC) as a way to support parents who don't mind admitting that they are addicted to their kids! A lot of parents want to keep their children involved in their day to day lives, but it gets really hard when you have only 2 arms and your little monkey wants to be in them all the time. :-) I researched a lot of ways to include my own little monkey in my day to day activities without breaking my back or hurting my shoulder even more. After finding a few designs, I realized that not only was I going to have to carry my little monkey, but would need to carry diapers, wipes, a bottle, a toy, a blanket... I live in Ohio and it's cold up here, man! So I decided to try to make something for myself instead of shopping around, and I came up with a carrier that I think works great for those of us who like to keep our little monkeys close, but hate having our hands full.

 

Just a little note... I understand that everyone is different... different shapes, sizes, styles, and tastes. I truly just want you to have the carrier that is best for you. If that means that it's not one of my carriers, I'm happy with that! I would love to talk to you to help you find out what options you have and what might work best for you. I've tried lots of carriers, and have friends who OWN even more carriers than I have tried on! LOL If you aren't sure where to look for information, don't hesistate to contact us and we will try to answer your questions and help you get the [unbiased] information that you need.

 

When I refer to "us", I'm referring to my family and the people who have helped me design these carriers. As for actual production of the "Little Monkey Blanket Carriers", my mother, Shirley (right), and I (at the sewing machine) are the ones who actually put them together and make those finishing touches that you see. My Mom has been sewing since before I could remember, and watching her sew wedding dresses and skating uniforms while sitting on the stairs eating lunch is my best memory. I look to her for answers and knowledge... not to mention awesome ideas! Ideas and creativity are a key part of what we do, which is why Brandy fits in so perfectly with our company! She is in charge of our first-aid line of products. Her 'day-job' allows her to see what needs there might be for making things more personal and fun for children who can't avoid using first-aid accessories. Her gears are always turning. And testing? Well, that's done by Brandon of course... he's MY own little monkey, and is our "Chief of Monkey Satisfaction". He's my inspiration for this. Let's not forget my oldest son Michael, who gives me the great ideas for the adventures you see listed on our monkey bar page. He's our "Director of Fun" (cause that's what he's best at... lol). You might hear other names, or see other pictures, of various other people who have been priceless to me during the design of this carrier. Many of my friends were willing to put their own monkeys on their backs for me to help with testing out one design or another, until I found what worked best. I have to make sure I send thanks out to them (and others) because they did most of the legwork for me! (Megan, Casey, Sammy, Sheri, Katie, Glenn, Tyler, Amanda)

 

Special thanks to my sister Jean for all her wonderful little international supplies that I have been incorporating into my carriers! It's so great to have such a unique supply on hand to play around with! I love you sis!
